About

Pienna - musical term meaning "full."

Piangevole - musical term meaning "plaintive."

For me, music is movement. My favorite songs make me experience motion in some way or another. Usually these songs tend to have a melancholic, poignant feel, or have lots of motion in the notes—particularly violin notes, or other strings.

About the blog

This is a blog about music — primarily in the classical/orchestral vein, since that is the kind that I'm most passionate about. I imagine that the music I'll talk about the most is trailer music.

This is just something for me to do on the side — a place for me to rave about music, recommend music, or review music. I have no particular plan for an update schedule. I'll post when I feel enthused.

My opinion is only mine. Do not take it personally. Also, I'm not a professional—I just happen to be obsessed with music. If I say something less than glowing about your favorite composer/group/album/song, it's probably because it didn't appeal to me. Nothing more than that.

About Anima

"Anima Motus" is Latin. Translated literally, it means "Soul Movement."

I have been playing the violin since I was six. I also played piano for a number of years, but I stopped after a while (it was never truly my instrument—my forte, if you will forgive the pun).
